What to do after a tooth extraction
The rules we give every patient after an extraction. Following them is what prevents a painful dry socket.
Read the full guide- Bite firmly on the gauze pack placed after the extraction and remove it after half an hour. Once the gauze is out, do not rinse your mouth, put a finger in the socket, or spit for two days.
- Avoid hot and spicy food for two days after the extraction. No smoking and no alcohol.
- If bleeding continues, hold cold ice water in your mouth and spit it out gently. Do not rinse or swill.
