What dental rehabilitation involves

Rehabilitation is what we call it when teeth need rebuilding rather than simply repairing — worn flat by years of grinding, broken down by decay, or lost until the bite itself has collapsed and the face has shortened. It is not one procedure but a plan: crowns, bridges, implants and dentures sequenced in the right order, so the bite is rebuilt to the correct height and every tooth shares the load again. Dr. Biruntha plans the whole case before any work starts, and you see the sequence and the cost in writing first.

How the treatment goes

  1. Full assessmentX-rays, photographs, models of both jaws and a record of how your bite actually closes — not just which teeth hurt.
  2. The written planYou see the whole sequence, what each stage achieves and what the total comes to, before anything is started.
  3. Foundation workInfection cleared, gums treated, hopeless teeth removed and implants placed where they are needed to carry the rebuild.
  4. Rebuilding the biteCrowns, bridges and dentures are fitted in order and adjusted together, so the bite closes evenly at the right height.

Types of rehabilitation

How much needs rebuilding decides the plan. These are the three levels, and most patients turn out to need less than they feared.

Single tooth rehabilitation — Dental Rehabilitation at Clear Dental Care, Perambalur

Single tooth rehabilitation

One tooth rebuilt back to its proper shape, shade and place in the bite — usually a crown after root canal treatment, or an implant and crown where the tooth has already gone. Shade-matched against the teeth either side so it disappears.

Best for: One broken, root-treated or missing tooth

Multiple teeth rehabilitation — Dental Rehabilitation at Clear Dental Care, Perambalur

Multiple teeth rehabilitation

Several teeth restored together, usually with a mix of crowns, a bridge and implants. Treating them as one case rather than one tooth at a time is what gets the bite and the shade to match across the group.

Best for: A few failing or missing teeth in the same area

Full mouth rehabilitation — Dental Rehabilitation at Clear Dental Care, Perambalur

Full mouth rehabilitation

The whole bite rebuilt, upper and lower. Used where teeth are worn down to stumps, where most are missing, or where the bite has closed so far that the lower face has shortened. The longest and most involved treatment we offer — and the one that changes most.

Best for: A severely worn, collapsed or largely missing set of teeth

Aftercare

After your dental rehabilitation

  • Expect two to three weeks to get used to a rebuilt bite — it will feel different at first.
  • Come back for the bite check we book you. A rebuilt bite almost always needs one small adjustment.
  • If you grind your teeth, wear the night guard. Grinding is what wore the teeth down the first time.
  • Clean under every bridge and around every implant daily — a threader or interdental brush, not just a toothbrush.
  • Six-monthly cleaning is not optional after a rehabilitation. It is what protects the investment.

Questions

Dental Rehabilitation — your questions answered

How long does a full mouth rehabilitation take?
Between one and six months depending on what is involved. A case of crowns and bridges alone can be finished in about a month; if implants are needed, the bone has to fuse to them for three to six months before the final teeth go on. You get a timeline with the written plan.
How much does it cost, and can I pay monthly?
It varies enormously, because a single crown and a full-mouth rebuild are both called rehabilitation. That is exactly why we cost the whole plan in writing before starting rather than quoting a figure over the phone. It can be paid in monthly instalments on EMI — call +91 94879 39179 and we will talk it through.
Do I have to do all of it at once?
No. Most cases are staged over months, and we sequence them so the urgent and the visible are handled first. What matters is that the whole plan is designed at the start — rebuilding a mouth tooth by tooth with no plan is how bites end up wrong.
Why have my teeth worn down so much?
Usually night grinding, often for years without knowing it. Acid plays a part too — reflux, or a lot of citrus and fizzy drinks. We find the cause before rebuilding, because new crowns placed over an untreated grinding habit will wear or fracture the same way.
Will it look natural?
That is the whole point of planning it as one case. Shade, shape and the line of the teeth are decided together and approved by you at a try-in stage before anything is finally fitted.
