Tooth Extraction at Clear Dental Care, Perambalur

What tooth extraction involves

Extraction is the complete removal of a tooth that can no longer be saved by a filling or root canal treatment. At Clear Dental Care the area is fully numbed first, so the procedure is pressure without pain. Most extractions are finished inside half an hour.

How the treatment goes

  1. Examination and X-rayWe confirm the tooth cannot be saved before recommending removal.
  2. Local anaesthesiaThe area is numbed completely. You stay awake but feel no pain.
  3. Gentle removalThe tooth is loosened and lifted out — you feel pressure, not pain.
  4. Gauze and instructionsYou bite on gauze and leave with clear written aftercare.

Aftercare

After your tooth extraction

  • Bite firmly on the gauze pack and remove it after 30 minutes.
  • Do not put your finger in the socket, rinse, or spit for two days.
  • Avoid hot and spicy food for two days. No smoking and no alcohol.
  • If bleeding continues, hold ice water in the mouth and spit gently — do not rinse.
  • If bleeding or pain continues for a long time, call us immediately.

If pain or bleeding gets worse rather than better, call +91 94879 39179 straight away — do not wait for the next appointment.

Questions

Tooth Extraction — your questions answered

Is tooth extraction painful?
No. The area is fully numbed with local anaesthesia before we begin, so you feel firm pressure but not pain. Mild soreness for a day or two afterwards is normal and settles with the tablets we prescribe.
How long does recovery take after a tooth extraction?
Most people are back to normal eating within 2–3 days. The socket closes over in about a week and the bone fills in over a few weeks. Following the aftercare rules — no rinsing or spitting for two days — is what keeps recovery quick.
Can I go to work the same day?
Yes, for a simple extraction most patients return to normal activity the same day. Avoid heavy lifting and hot food for the rest of that day.
What happens to the gap afterwards?
A back tooth gap can sometimes be left, but front and chewing teeth are usually replaced with an implant, bridge or denture so the neighbouring teeth do not drift. We talk through the options with you before the extraction.
